As a continuation of the BioVisionAlexandria conferences in years 2004 and 2006, BioVisionAlexandria 2008 takes place in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
BioVisionAlexandria 2008 will be co-organized in partnership with "The World Life Sciences Forum BioVision" in Lyon, France.
As BioVisionAlexandria continues to evolve, the 2008 conference will focus on the effective translation of the best knowledge available into new approaches.
The theme of the 2008 forum will be "From Promises to Practice". World leading experts will once again gather in Alexandria to examine why immense advances in human wellbeing coexist with extreme deprivation. The deliberations will address the escalating need for the involvement of the private sector in meeting the needs and interests of the poor, and to what extent the existing technologies and policy agendas are oriented to these needs.
The conference will attempt to present a balanced view between commercial values and human rights between northern and southern concerns.
