For the first time in the history of BioVisionAlexandria, the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) organized, in collaboration with The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS), the interactive event TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.Nxt.
The event ran concurrently with the BioVisionAlexandria 2008 conference in April 2008 under the title Funding Research in the Developing World.
The event was held 11-12 April 2008 and applicants participated in the BioVisionAlexandria 2008 Conference as well.
The CSSP hosted 99 young scientists from 27 developing countries who shared their ideas and experiences. In addition they met with mentors and eminent scientists who enlighten their knowledge into the fields of research and development.
Each young researcher had the opportunity to demonstrate his/her project/research in the poster session and share his/her ideas during BioVisionAlexandria 2008.
The event also included various discussions focusing on difficulties encountered in their respective countries. These discussions aimed at finding ways and means of overcoming some of those difficulties.
