The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Arab Academy of Science & Technology (AAST) and the Swedish Institute in Alexandria co-organized the Global Environmental Youth Convention (GEYC) in Egypt.
Around 600 teenagers from Egypt, as well as from the four corners of the globe gathered in Alexandria for the event which was under the patronage of H.E Mrs. Susan Mubarak.
During the five days of the convention, discussions about preventive environmental strategies and how they can be linked to development, human rights, peace and culture took place.
This event came within the Young Masters Program (YMP) and the Global Environmental Youth Convention (GEYC) goals of taking another step of realizing the vision to be a part of a global network to work together regarding environmental questions across national and cultural boundaries.
