Two books are recommended to get an overview of
commonly used theories in Health Promotion: 1. "Theory in a nutshell": a guide to Health Promotion Theory, by Don Nutbeam and Elizabeth Harris. Publisher: McGraw(Aus), 1999 2. "Health Behavior and Health Education: Theory, Research and Practice", by Karen Glanz, et.al.. Publisher: Jossey-Bass, San Fransisco;1997 In both books the Health Belief Model, the Stages of Change Model and the Theory of Reasoned Action are explained. More theoretical and research literature is extensively cited in the excellent bibliography of the book of L.W. Green which we will recommend in slide 10. |
