As a developing country embarking on industrialisation in the early sixties, Singapore was fortunate to receive guidance from the ILO in establishing a national framework for occupational health. Over the years, through collaboration with the WHO, ILO, ICOH and other agencies, we were able to learn from the varied experience of many countries. This approach has been very useful and continues to help shape the development of occupational safety and health in Singapore. |
