The largest
standardized investigation was conducted in 1991 among native population of four Chukotka
costal villages. The age range was 25-64 years. The overall response rate was 65,5%.
The representative sampling population was 553 person. We examined 170 men and 192 women,
that was 36% of the whole polulation. In total we have screened 362 natives. We used
standard OGTT ( with the use of standard (75 g) glucose load)
according to WHO (1985) criteria. All other studies also met the requirements of WHO. Part
of the protocol was identical to that of the Keewatin Health Assessment Study conducted
simultaneously by the University of Manitoba in the Northwest Territories as part of the
collaborative research agreement. |
