face in combating ESRD in the U.S.
While
incidence is dropping among Caucasians between the ages of 20 and
29, it continues at extremely high levels among African Americans in
this age group.
NIDDK-supported research programs are aimed at understanding the
reasons for this disparity and closing this gap.
