- Chair of a World Health Organization Working Group on Health Promotion Evaluation from 1995-2001 (http://www.who.dk)

- Director of the Centre for Health Promotion at the University of Toronto from 1990-2001

- Chief of Health Promotion Studies and Director of Program Resources for the Health Promotion Directorate of the national Department of Health and Welfare in Canada from 1978-1990 (http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca) and

- Consultant and Senior Scientist at the World Health Organization in Geneva from 1979-81 (http://www.who.ch)

- In all these positions I have been concerned about and involved in developing evidence for practice and policy in health promotion
