- We may be
forced to return to it in the future, but for the time being, we felt that a "best
practices" approach was more friendly to our health promotion values and as a
consequence, for the past few years have been looking at how we might use this approach - We have made considerable progress in doing so and have presented it in workshops in Canada and Europe to fairly enthusiastic response by practitioners A paper on our work is also been published in the journal Health Promotion Practice (Kahan and Goodstadt,2001). In additional an electronic version of the model is availalble on the Centre for Health Promotion Web Site - I would like to note that the approach that we use builds directly on evidence of effectiveness and we suggest criteria for assessing this evidence from a "best practices" perspective - It also however, recognizes that we need to include other ingredients in our identification of best practices for health promotion including our. |
