To maximize the cost effectiveness of the project we will concentrate in villages with high HIV/AIDS prevalence as shall be indicated by district medical officers and chiefs of health centers. This will also be based on the dynamism of the village FBOs, the population of the village and motivation of the population.
To attend the stated goals, the following activities will be carried out:
- Improvement of the sermons given in FBOs vis-à-vis HIV/AIDS prevention, care and mitigation.
- Health education and promotion on HIV/AIDS prevention.
- Promotion of voluntary testing after counseling.
- Reduction of social stigma of HIV/AIDS among AIDS orphans, PLWH, and FBOs members.
- Capacity building of human and church institutions to fight against HIV/AIDS.
The following components will be integral parts of the project:
- Target on beneficiaries consisting of 70 % Christians and 20 % Moslems as well as youths, free girls and women.
- Community participation through local NGOs, village development associations, youths, and groups of elders.
