A one-off in Australia in 1996 with some several fatalities caused by respiratory distress and paralysis in horses. The attending vet died after being infected via arm abrasions received whilst mistakenly feeling for an obstruction down the horses throat. (Vets have also contracted rabies from cows by this after assuming the cows had throat- obstructions eg potatoes).
