Peak viremia is a surrogate for the number of
dengue-infected cells. Viremia levels diminish once antibodies are released
into circulation. During secondary dengue infections, anamnestic antibody
production begins early. Secondary viremias are rapidly reduced and are
shorter in duration that primary viremias (Vaughn et al JID ). |
