"CeramAlex - A Database Unlocking Ptolemaic and Roman Pottery Finds in Egypt"
The Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) in cooperation with the German Science Centre (DWZ) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), is organizing a lecture titled "CeramAlex - A Database Unlocking Ptolemaic and Roman Pottery Finds in Egypt" as one of the DWZ lectures series on "Digitalizing Science and Education".

It is of no doubt that the internet is becoming a helpful tool for researchers of various disciplines, offering new digital infrastructure for research and for international exchange with colleagues.

In a joint project between Germany and France, the Archeological Institute of Cologne University and the Centre d?Études Alexandrines have documented ceramics from Egypt in the CeramAlex database, unlocking Ptolemaic and Roman pottery finds in Egypt to support further research and cooperation. Ms. Heike Möller , research assistant at the University of Cologne, will be giving the lecture as a leading scientist among the German scientists that present their experiences on utilizing the digital world in their diverse fields.
