Prevention
--- At present, the vaccines for both HAV and HBV infection are available.
For those travelling to poor hygienic area, vaccination for HAV is highly
recommended. In the meantime, for eradication of HAV from a high-endemic area,
just improvement in environmental sanitation and change in individual
hygienic habit are enough. Taiwan, with high prevalence of both HBV and
HAV infection in the early 80's, now has progressed to an area where the residents who are to travel to
high-endemic area should receive vaccination for prevention. Vaccination information for HAV. (CDC-USA) Vaccination information for HBV. (CDC-USA) |
