Neonatal complications were significantly more frequent in both the offspring of DM as well as that of the GDM mothers; when compared to the normal glucose tolerance mother. Moreover, these complications were even greater in the offspring of DM mothers than that of GDM mother. This phenomena might suggest neonatal sensitivity to the mother glucose metabolism during the pregnancy.
