The Charles University Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen has been carried on a CDROM server since 1994. The CD titles were accessible for users from a faculty campus (inside a local area neowork) only. Also the Rector’s office of the Charles University in Prague was built up next CDROM server in 1997. That’s why the idea to interconnect these two servers and to implement the Internet access was arised.
