Using the methodology described, we determined the distance women in Vermont had to travel to obtain a mammogram. The majority of women had to travel less than 25 km, but some women had to travel over 45 km. Mammography facilities are located in populated areas, so women who live in populated areas do not travel as far to receive a mammogram as women who live in rural areas.
