Therefore with all
things considered, even just for precaution purposes, certain risk
mitigation measures or health risk prevention strategies should be in place
in order to cope with the potential hazard from consuming fish contaminated
with POCs. For health risk prevention or mitigation of this type, effective
measures and strategies could or should come from multiple directions as
follows: environmental health policy; regulatory/research
activities; residue monitoring programs; and self awareness/prevention.
These approaches are briefly outlined in the remaining slides that follow.
Note that of the directions mentioned here, the last appears to be the most
effective. |
