Regulatory/research
activities. Regulatory or health advisory activities should be in
place to advance the general public’s awareness and to enrich the risk
communication resources concerning fish contamination with POCs. More
research or academic work is needed to refine the efforts that have already
been done on health risk assessment methodology, on toxicity studies, and on
relevant exposure parameters including certainly localized fish consumption
rates. For example, more regulatory/research efforts should be given to the
additional health impacts from bioaccumulation of POCs in humans. |
