Nonreproductive effects of smoking include:
Cancer, Coronary artery disease, earlier menopause, COPD, vascular disease, and gastric ulcers.

Reproductive effects include:
Impaired tubal motility leading to ectopic pregnancy
Increased rate of spontaneous abortion (42% smokers vs 18% nonsmokers)
Decreased fertility
Ovulatory dysfunction with abnormal bleeding 67% higher for heavy smokers than nonsmokers.

Smoking attributable costs for complicated births range from 1.4 to 2 billion dollars annually.
