TWAS-ARO 6th Annual Meeting
The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World - Arab Regional Office
(TWAS-ARO) held its 6th Annual meeting on 22 December 2010 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The theme of this year's meeting was
"Linking Research Institutions, Universities, and Industry in the Arab World"

and aimed at creating self-consciousness and cooperation among Arab countries,
in addition to exploring ways to improve knowledge transfer between research institutions and industry in particular. TWAS-ARO members and young affiliates along with other eminent speakers, gave a talk and participated in a panel discussion around the meeting's topic.

TWAS-ARO Regional Prize winner, in addition to TWAS-ARO Young Affiliates 2010 announcement also took place on the first day of the meeting.

Registrants had the priority to attend the Public Lecture of Prof. Mostafa El-Sayed, Professor, School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA which was held on the 23rd of December 2010, under the topic: "Beating Cancer Cells to Death with Gold Nanoparticles in More than One Way".
