The Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), affiliated to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Academic Research Sector, in collaboration with The World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries’ Arab Regional Partner (TWAS–AREP), are organizing the Hybrid workshop “Innovation and Technology: Towards Sustainable Development in the Arab Region” from 26–27 November 2024. The workshop is organized under the framework of the TWAS-AREP Young Scientists Training Program, which aims to build the young scientists’ capacities in the fields of natural and applied sciences, by providing them with the skills and knowledge to help advance their research careers and achieve their professional goals.
The workshop will address number of topics highlighting prominent modern technologies and innovative practices that support the sustainable development process in the Arab region, with special focus on the fields of: environment, agriculture, energy, health, and technology.
The workshop targets young Arab researchers and scientists, and it will bring together group of speakers, experts, and academics in an interactive sessions to present the interlinkages of science, technology and innovation with different paths of sustainable development.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be an Arab citizen, under age of 40, hold an Arab nationality, and live or work in a developing country.
- The applicant must be a master's or doctoral student or holds a PhD degree in one of the natural or applied sciences fields.
- Refugees and/or displaced scientists living in any country are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Women scientists who meet the workshop’s eligibility criteria are highly encouraged to apply.
- Applicants must fill out electronically the workshop online application form and submit it by the registration deadline.
