The
most trusted source of US public health data is the MMWR, issued by the Centers for
Disease Control & Prevention. The CDC also publishes special reports on a specific
topic or activity on occasion. The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) offers a wealth of public health
data on a variety of different areas. Don't miss this site.
Other sources of epidemiological data include: State vital statistics reports (state,
county, and local health departments); local or state health planning agency, professional
& scholarly journals, and, of course, the Internet. You can get to these sources on my
