What is TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.NXT?

TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.NXT (BVA.NXT) initiative was launched during BioVisionAlexandria 2008, where the Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosted 99 young scientists from 27 developing countries to discuss the problems these scientists face when conducting research in their respective countries.

TWAS/BVA.NXT 2020 is the sixth BioVisionAlexandira.NXT to be organized in Alexandria. The event will be held on 7–8 April 2020 under the theme “Innovation and Technology: A Way Forward”. It intends to explore the innovation and technology in the developing countries, with special focus on the fourth industrial revolution, and the new technologies which are changing our societies.

TWAS/BVA.NXT 2020 participants will be offered the opportunity to meet policy makers, experts, academics and young promising scientists from the South to provide them with the needed skills to build their own capacities and help them contribute in the advancement of their developing countries. They will have the opportunity to meet with eminent scientists from around the world to discuss how their innovations and the new technologies can help their countries towards a better future.
