Dr. Eng. Hani El Nokrashy graduated as Mechanical Engineer from the Cairo University, Faculty of Engineering; and obtained Dr. Ing. degree from the Technical University of Darmstadt. He participated, as a team member, at the Studies of the German AeroSpace Center “DLR”, for renewable energies around the Mediterranean. In 2009, the Egyptian Government asked him to edit a study about the future of electricity production in Egypt. He suggested therein a gradual, but definitive, shift to renewable energies within this century. Since 2008, he is member of the advisory board of REMENA, a joint Master’s course for renewable energies by the Universities of Kassel (Germany) and Cairo (Egypt). years 2009–2014, founding member of the DESERTEC foundation and Vice-Chairman of the supervisory board. In September 2014, he was nominated by President El-Sisi to be a member of the Scientific Advisory Council to the President engaged with energy questions.
 
 
  Abstract
 
Egypt's Energy Future for a better Quality of Life
Nokrashy Burning fuels to produce electricity damages the environment and the budget of the country. The direct sunrays available in Egypt everywhere and nearly all the year offers a very important, economic and ecologic solution to the growing demand for electricity. It is the usage of Concentrating Solar Power (CSP). It is a mature technology since about a decade, which enables a high temperature of several hundred degrees centigrade to be stored in a mixture of molten salts and used to heat water to steam for driving a steam turbine. Adequate storage allows continuous operation day and night, so that it can replace conventional power stations completely. In emergency cases, just a flame to replace the heat of the sun is necessary and the power station continues to deliver sustainable and reliable electricity "On Demand". The cost of the electricهty unit is then 30% less than conventional electricity and after pay back of the debt, it will be about 1 US$ Cent. More over from, the waste heat seawater desalination can be economically achieved.
