This phenomenon
is best seen in this slide, which demonstrates marked predictive value for four
inflammatory markers: ICAM-1, interleukin-6, serum amyloid A, and hs-CRP, even among the
apparently healthy women in the Women's Health Study whose LDL cholesterol was already at
target according to NCEP guidelines, that is to say, less than 130 mg/dL in a
